One live specimen also collected. n=11 during meiosis of microgametogenesis.; Shrub 1.5m tall with several trunks; some of the shorter branches caduceus. 19 May 2000 flowers collected: inner tepals pale yellow-green suffused with brown-orange and red purple, outer tepals with more red-purple; filaments green; anthers bright yellow; style white, tinged red-purple above; stigma white with slight hint of green. This is the first F2 hybrid I have seen for C. acanthocarpa × C. leptocaulis. It's resemblance to C. versicolor may indicate a hybrid origin for the latter.",
