The Denver Museum of Nature & Science Bird Collection contains approximately 42,500 catalogued specimens from around the world, with a focus on the Rocky Mountain and Great Plains regions. The collection includes study skins, skeletal material, taxidermy mounts, egg sets, nests, frozen tissue samples (~600 individuals), and associated parasites (ecto and endo). Growth of the collection continues primarily through salvage activities.
