Weedy upland mixed-grass prairie with boulders, low cliffs, and benches of calcareous Tertiary White River Group rocks on moderate to steep, S-facing slope of W–E trending ridge, and low outcrops of finely crystalline Permian Minnekahta Limestone in ravine sparsely wooded with Juniperus scopulorum and Pinus ponderosa. Scattered calcareous and silicic rocks and pebbles on slope and extensive areas of Quaternary alluvial gravel on benches.",
