"dwc:fieldNotes": "NOTEBY J. Longino: Mangrove swamp at mouth of Rio Corcovado. An Azteca nest was in a knothole of an Avicennia tree. The knothole was filled with a carton plug which could have been part of an old termite nest. I removed the plug, and on the back wall of the knothole was a riodinid larva (figure in notes). Ants swarmed over the larva and were herding it around. The larva had an orange collar of detachable bladders. The body was dusky pink, with black and white speckling from minute papillae. The larva and an ant were put together in a container, but the larva mysteriously died during the afternoon before I arrived back at the station. The container never over-heated. Photos.",
