Some branches were packed with males, others had both males and alate queens. I didn't find any dealate queens. The stems were full of scale insects, a few mealybugs. There was what I think was a Microdon-like fly larva. Larva looked just like scale insects. Mimicry? I made counts of stem contents for four 10cm long stem sections. A broken branch 10cm dia. had a continuous cavity with ants, similar to 1cm dia branches. One small branch had Microdon(?) larva. It looked like it was eating scale insects.
