Weber and Bill Bloomquist.; Flower diameter 70-97 mm, length 95-112 mm, stigma number 8-10, stigma color forest green or dark green, outer perianth yellow or orange or pale green with magenta or pale pink mid-stripe, inner perianth color yellow with orange mid-stripe; flowers were filled with tiny beetles. Fruits fleshy (dried ones had holes), diameter 17-20 mm, length 62-75 mm, magenta, fleshy-covered with glochids and spines; seeds tan when dried.
