Field NotesNOTEBY J.Longino: Wet forest. Series of collections of whole Ocotea plants, cut at ground level, all dissected on same day as collection, kept separate from each other. Possibly two species of Ocotea, "rib" and "round," referring to ribbing on stems (see notes). Field notes have diagrams of dissected trees. "rib" tree: 50cm tall, first 50cm solid, upper part with 3 chambers with dead black queen remains, 1 chamber with live orange queen.
