"dwc:occurrenceRemarks": "This purported type specimen was obtained in 1996 by NCSM along w/ the accession of UNC-IMS collection. Records show that it was on loan to Frank J. Schwartz by Pakistan Fisheries since 7 March 1964 (by officer-in-charge A.R. Ranjha). It is purported to be one of two paratypes (ZSI 80/2) from original description by Misra 1946 (Recs. Indian Mus. Calcutta 44(4):361-362) possibly redistributed from Zool. Surv. India, Calcutta, to Karachi Fisheries some time after partitioning of Pakistan in 1947 (per comm. M.M. Kahn, Pak. Fish., 17 Apr. 2000). In same communication (on file), M.M. Kahn requested that specimen remain at NCSM due to inadequate curation of material remaining at his institution. Per F.J. Schwartz, the ZSI collection at Calcutta is no longer well curated w/ many specimens now deteriorated so can't verify from ZSI at this time if any types were redistributed or if all may still reside there. Given that situation, possibly this is only type remaining. Schwartz stated this nominal species is a synonym of R. javanica Muller & Henle, 1841. [Remarks by Wayne C. Starnes, 26 January 2005].",
