This site is located at coordinates 36.09449, -117.03539 and elevation 5000 ft (Panamint 7.5 min USGS topo quad; NGS TOPO! and GoogleEarth). The only water source above Hungry Bills Ranch is the spring marked on the Panamint USGS quad at 36.10050, -117.04287 at an elevation of 5525 ft (WGS84 datum), and about 3/4 of a mile by canyon bottom above Hungry Bills Ranch, I would recommend these coordinates and elevation for specimens collected in the vicinity of their campsite in Johnson Canyon. Note: I don't trust most of the elevations Dixon gave, as modern topo maps consistently show the same spot to be between 300 and 700 feet lower in actual elevation. Reviewed by Jim Patton 1/26/16.",
