A root is boiled in a little water and a tablespoon of the liquid is taken in the morning for diarrhea (Mrs. Juanita Manuel, Sacaton Flats, 27Nov.1940). The roots are pounded, boiled and the decoction given for diarrhea (Mrs. Fanny Wilson, Stotonic, 27Nov.1941). The roots are boiled in water and the decoction drunk cold for diarrhea (Mrs. Barbara Harvey, near Sacaton, 22April 1941). This plant is covered with hairs (pubescent) which get on the children's hand and then are rubbed on the eyes, causing irritation (Walkinstick [Yerba de la Negata -?], instructor at Salt River School, 22April 1941).",
