"dcterms:description": "nombre científico: pinctata margaritifera nombre vulgar: ostra perlífera de labios negros. ejemplar de la exposición \"fabricantes de perlas\" del aquarium finisterrae: <a href=\"http://www.casaciencias.org/aquarium/fabricantes-de-perlas.html\">www.casaciencias.org/aquarium/fabricantes-de-perlas.html</a> biología: son bivalvos que se encuentran en fondos costeros duros, pétreos o coralinos, fijos al sustrato y en profundidades de hasta 40 m. son hermafroditas alternativos. nacen machos y se transforman en hembras a los dos tres años de vida, para iniciar una fecundación totalmente externa. las larvas planctónicas acaban fijándose, tras diversas metamorfosis, donde inician su crecimiento con ostra perlífera. su forma de alimentarse es por filtración a través de su complejo braquial. alimentación: en su dieta constan todo tipo de microorganismos planctónicos, especialmente de microalgas. no son selectivos. su dieta se reduce durante el verano ya que es la época en la que aumenta su actividad reproductiva. distribución: se distribuye por todo el océano pacifico tropical y por el indico, donde es cultivada para la obtención de perlas de alta calidad. el foco de mayor producción es polinesia. >> <a href=\"http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=utf8&hl=es&msa=0&msid=110893356096158038672.000001130534e7fcc76b8&ll=24.846565,73.828125&spn=131.163282,239.414063&z=2&om=1\">ver mapamundi</a> de los fabricantes de perlas.",
