The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Herbarium's collection of bryophytes is small, and focuses on species of the Southeastern United States. Our vascular plant collection is world-wide in scope but focuses on plants of southeastern U.S., especially Carolinas. Our phycological collection is world-wide with a focus on temperate, red marine algae. Mycological collections are world-wide in scope with a focus on species from the Southeastern United States. NCU's lichen collection focuses on species of the Southeastern United States. Our paleobotanical collections focus on plants of the Devonian. NCU is open to visitors & researchers weekdays; contact Curator Carol Ann McCormick for parking information.
